Bipolar disorder is a chronic mental health condition characterized by extreme shifts in mood, energy, and behavior. These shifts are known as manic or hypomanic episodes (high moods) and depressive episodes (low moods).
I'm not going to talk about my experiences with Bipolar depression, I'm just going to discuss what the symptoms are. If you have ever seen the movie O Brother Where Art Thou, there was a character in the movie that robbed banks. That is when he was in his Mania phase. When he was caught - he was in his depressive mood. Watch the movie and you'll understand. That is the best way I can describe what bipolar is, Severe ups and downs.
The medications I take stop the swings. Once in a while the medication no longer works, so you have to get your medications updated or go into a psych ward and work with a psychiatrist to get things worked out.
The reason you go into a psych ward is so you won't hurt yourself or anyone else while your getting your meds figured out. I hope this all makes sense. Send me an email if you have questions. millscottm@gmail.com Cheers people.
